Tamara Cedré is currently a Visiting Professor at Pitzer College and lives/works along the route of the supply chain between Los Angeles and the Inland Empire.She has taught and organized in San Bernardino for over a decade. As a lens-based artist and educator, Cedré uses documentary forms to reveal the conditions of underrepresented communities. Her artistic practice employs archives to address issues at the nexus of land, labor, migration and identity. Cedré received her MFA from Maryland Institute College of Art and has been the recipient of awards and grants from the Center for Creative Citizenship, the Joan Mitchell Foundation and the California Arts Council. She most recently completed a residency at the Center for Photography at Woodstock. For this project, Tamara led a team of artists to create works at 5 sites in the Inland Empire: Valley Truck Farms, Bloomington, South Colton, Ybarra’s Market, and Fontana.
