San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools is leading coordination efforts to help families access a range of early education options, such as Transitional Kindergarten, Head Start, private preschools, and childcare centers, to strengthen early childhood outcomes.

The first annual Week of the Young Child Family Resource Fair was hosted by the county’s Preschool Services Department at the San Bernardino County Museum in Redlands on Saturday, April 11, in collaboration with the San Bernardino County Museum in Redlands.

A study published by Boston University CTE Center in 2023, revealed how the hits young players take on the field can have a greater impact on their brains than previously recognized. Researchers found “repetitive blows to the head” could lead to less white matter in their brains potentially causing poor impulse control, cognitive difficulties and other thinking-related problems. Researchers also warned there exists a greater risk for brain damage later in life for those who start playing tackle football as children.
