San Bernardino County Preschool Services hosted its first annual Week of the Young Child Family Resource Fair on Saturday, April 11, in collaboration with the San Bernardino County Museum in Redlands. The event brought together families, community partners and staff for a day focused on early learning and family engagement.

“The Week of the Young Child is a national celebration recognizing the importance of early childhood education and the critical role families and communities play in supporting children’s growth and development,” according to San Bernardino County officials.

The event reflects the county’s ongoing commitment to ensuring all children have access to high-quality early learning opportunities and the resources needed to succeed.

Children and families explored the museum’s science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics lab and the many engaging exhibits  during the event. They also had an opportunity to participate in hands-on, interactive activities designed to spark curiosity, creativity and a love of learning.

Overall, the experiences offered families meaningful ways to interact with their children and discover educational activities they can continue at home.

According to the county’s coverage of the event, more than 400 children and family members, as well as 300 museum attendees from across the county, visited resource booths hosted by 10 community organizations that offer services in health, education and family support.

“The event supports Preschool Services’ mission to promote school readiness, strengthen family partnerships and connect families to comprehensive services,” the county explained on its website. It also aligns with the county’s broader goals of expanding access to essential services, fostering community engagement and improving quality of life for children and families. For more information about San Bernardino County Preschool Services programs, visit psd.sbcounty.gov or call 888-KIDS-025.
