On February 28, 2022 San Bernardino Superior Court announced it will hold outdoor court for  all misdemeanor arraignments, including those requested by parties.

Presided over by Assistant Presidio Judge Lisa M. Roger, court will be in session Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

The outdoor court is scheduled to continue until the end of the year weather permitting.

All litigants will be given written notification of the day and time of their scheduled appearance.

Outdoor court proceedings have been instituted to both meet the demands of judicial backlogs by expanding court calendars to  accommodate more cases in an outdoor setting, as well as a way to meet the concerns over public health brought about by the pandemic.

Initially instituted during the early days of the pandemic, outdoor court and its benefits are determined to be effective, healthier and productive.

Although face coverings are no longer required in court room settings, they remain highly recommended in alignment with CA Governor Gavin Newsom’s latest COVID-19 update regarding face coverings.
