Representative Mark Takano, 41st District of California
Rep. Gloria Negrete McLeod (D-Chino) and Rep. Mark Takano (D-Riverside) recently announced their upcoming Small Business Global Access Forum event to be held during the Congressional August Recess.
In collaboration with the Export-Import Bank of the United States, the event is tailored to address the exporting needs of small and medium-sized businesses with 500 or fewer employees. Admission is free and open to the public.
“The goal of this event is to help grow our local economy and jobs in our region by connecting local small businesses with the tools and resources to help them export products to global markets. I invite all small business owners in the Southern California region to attend this important event,” said Rep. Negrete McLeod.
“The Inland Empire has been hit hard by the Great Recession and we should be doing more for small businesses. By connecting Inland Empire businesses with the resources and tools they need to compete in the global marketplace, our region can continue to pull itself out of this economic downturn. I encourage all small business owners to attend and hope they will find the forum informative and beneficial,” said Rep. Takano.
Presentations will be made by federal and state officials ranging in topics such as:
• Learning how to begin exporting products
• Finding New Markets and Customers
• Connecting to Government Resources
• Protecting against the risk of nonpayment
• Access to working capital
