Sacramento, CA – Thursday, June 18, 2020 Governor Gavin Newsom issued an order mandating all Californians wear face covering in public or in high risk settings. The order was issued after the state recorded the highest number of coronavirus cases in a single day. There were 4,921 new cases recorded in the state on Wednesday, June 17, setting a new bar for the highest number of cases documented in a single day. This was the first time since the pandemic started early this year the state has exceeded 4,000 new cases in a single day.
