The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors announced the approval of an extended contract with Abundant Living Family Church in Hesperia for a program called New Hope which will assist former inmates by providing  resources and services to help them avoid recidivism.

The program will provide transportation for recently released inmates, support services and other resources.  Additional services being offered through the program include substance abuse treatment, job training and placement, and mental and physical health services at the Probation Department’s Day Reporting Center.

Since 2015,  the church has continued to do its part by offering recidivism reduction services for those in need and  has done so in accordance with Proposition 47, which reduces certain charges from felonies to misdemeanors.

The Sheriff’s Department is collaborating with the church to provide transportation services to local inmates recently set free.

Many supporters congratulated the Church and are excited to hear the news of the program in the High Desert.

“Congratulations Pastor Kendra and Mark, you guys worked diligently towards this. Love You Guys!” said Clarice Murray on Facebook.
