Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) knows that there is never a bad time of year to make home improvements that can increase energy efficiency and lower energy bills. And that’s why their Weatherization rebate program is available year-round for its energy customers.
Whether the goal is to keep out sweltering summer heat or the chill of winter, RPU’s Weatherization program offers homeowners the chance to make small improvements that can have big benefits.
One of the easiest ways to increase a home’s efficiency is to install attic insulation. Currently the utility offers attic insulation rebates of 10 cents per square foot installed of R-19; 15 cents per square foot installed of R-30; and 20 cents per square foot installed of R-38 or greater insulation products.
There are also rebates for: installing R-13 or greater wall insulation; installing a whole house fan, and solar-powered or standard attic fans; Energy Star rated windows, and window film, and Cool Roof products; and even a $50 rebate for installing a Wi-Fi enabled programmable thermostat. Commercial rebates are also available.
