Police accountability is a national issue that requires local solutions. This forum will provide an opportunity to discuss the findings of the U.S. Attorney General’s and Department of Justice’s report on Ferguson, MO, and to draw parallel lessons to the 2001 State Attorney General findings after the Tyisha Miller shooting. The presentations and discussion will focus on key areas for continued improvement, including:

• racial profiling training and practice
• race and traffic stop/citation data
• police department workforce diversity
• cultural competency and community relations

Panelists will address the issue from their perspectives, followed by Q&A.

CONFIRMED PANELISTS:

Chief Sergio Diaz, Riverside Police Department
Jennifer Vaughn-Blakely, The Group
Woodie Rucker-Hughes, NAACP Riverside Chapter
Dr. Oliver Thompson, RCC Professor of Administration of Justice
Julio Marroquin, Justice for Immigrants Coalition
