Candidate filing for the March 5, 2024 Presidential Primary Election began Monday, Nov. 13 and continues through 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 8 at the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters.
Nearly 60 federal, state, county, judicial and local offices are up for election in San Bernardino County, which include United States Senator, United States Representatives for districts 23, 25, 28, 33, 35 and 40, State Senators for districts 19, 23, 25, 29 and 31, members of the State Assembly for districts 34, 36, 39, 41, 45, 47, 50, 53, 58 and 59, County Supervisors for districts 1, 3 and 5, Superior Court Judges for 30 offices and Chaffey Community College District Governing Board Members, Areas 3, 4 and 5.
Qualified citizens may also file candidacy documents for partisan nominations for United States President or various county central committee seats.
When a person obtains candidacy documents, he or she must be a registered voter residing in the district and division/area. Additionally, candidates for the office of county supervisor must have been a registered voter in the relevant district by Nov. 8.
Citizens interested in running for office may obtain the appropriate candidacy documents from the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters, 777 E. Rialto Avenue in San Bernardino from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Completed documents must be filed with the Registrar of Voters by 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 8. Citizens interested in running for offices up for election in the cities of Loma Linda or San Bernardino must pick up and file their candidate filing documents at the appropriate City Clerk’s office during regular business hours.

The candidate nomination period is also open in Riverside County and closes December 8, 2023. If the incumbent does not file by December 8, 2023, the nomination period will be extended to December 13, 2023, for non-incumbents.
