Riverside, CA

Warm Centers are now open to the public in Riverside County at no cost. The centers opened Thursday, December 1 and will remain open at selected libraries, recreation, wellness and community centers as well as some county offices through March 31 as temperatures warrant. The centers are supported by the Community Action Partnership of Riverside County in conjunction with Riverside University Health System—Public Health. Brenda Salas Freeman, Executive Director of the Community Action Partnership of Riverside County explained the value of the centers. “Because some people may not be able to escape extremely cold temperatures, we have worked with our community partners to open warm centers to ensure the safety and comfort of residents and visitors throughout Riverside County,” she said. For Warm Center locations, hours and tips on how to protect yourself from the cold please call the Energy Crisis Hotlines at (888) 636-8676 or (951) 955-9389 or 2-1-1 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Above: A Warm Center location, Cesar Chavez Community Center)
