Ontario Airport Experiences Highest Volumes in Recent Years

Ontario

2017 was an impressive year for the Ontario International Airport. The facility experienced strong growth in passenger travel and cargo shipments. The airport reported 4.5 million passengers passed through its gates last year, making it the best year since 2010. Travel increased seven percent over 2016. The airport authority credits the great results to increased consumer confidence and local control. Additionally, the airport’s freight tonnage increased, as did its cargo shipments which grew 15 percent over 2016. Reflecting on last year’s results, Ontario International Airport President Alan Wapner said, “The strong momentum built in 2017, the first full year of local control of ONT, gives us great optimism for what lies ahead in 2018.”
