Nonprofit Focuses on Disaster Preparedness

Riverside

The region has its share of wildfires, earthquakes and other large-scale disasters and one local nonprofit is committed to helping homeowners and businesses prepare for such events.

The Coachella Valley Disaster Preparedness Network (CVDPN) is committed to working with businesses, homeowners and other groups to develop their emergency plans. All members of the group are certified in community emergency response and work closely with local fire agencies.

CVDPN became a nonprofit after separating from Riverside County last year due to budget constraints and is working to assure members of the community knows the organization has resources available to provide guidance on disaster preparedness.
