Jackson Dean Will Represent Riverside County in State Competition

Riverside

Congratulations to Palm Valley High School junior Jackson Dean, who will represent Riverside County at the statewide Poetry Out Loud competition in March. The Rancho Mirage student beat all competitors at the Riverside County competition held in late January.

The Poetry Out Loud program is designed to encourage students to learn about great poetry through memorization and recitation. The annual competition starts at the classroom level. Winners then advance to school-wide competition where, if successful, they move on to compete at the regional level. Winners then compete for an opportunity to represent the state at the national level. This program is funded by the National Endowment for the Arts. Learn more at www.poetryoutloud.org/about.
