Historic Agreement on Climate Change

Paris

The monumental global agreement to curtail greenhouse gas emissions and fight climate change is set to take effect November 4.

Since President Barack Obama secured the groundbreaking covenant ten months ago, at least twelve additional countries have signed on including the world’s fourth largest producers of greenhouse emissions—India. That brings the total number of countries participating in the international cooperative effort to 74—collectively, these countries account for just under sixty percent of the world’s destructive greenhouse gas emissions.

The level of participation in this unprecedented effort is perceived by experts as a clear indication of how seriously world leaders take the growing threat of the rapidly changing climate on humanity.
