Beaumont, CA

Late last week all seven of the former top Beaumont officials arrested and charged for using tax payer money for personal gains, all plead not guilty.

A series of schemes allegedly perpetrated by the former officials purportedly yielded the group close to 43 million dollars. The charges are an indication that corruption may have been rampant in the upper levels of the city’s government.

Among those charged in the schemes were the city’s former city manager, the former finance director, former city attorney, former police chief and the former planning director.
