On Friday, Southern California Gas Company hosted a special recognition event to honor this year’s recipients of the company’s Energizing Our Future scholarship awards. The event was hosted at the SoCalGas Company Riverside District Operations Base.

SoCalGas believes that a well-rounded workforce makes good business sense for a vital and healthy Southern California. Through its scholarship program, the company encourages students to pursue a higher education following high school or community college.

The company’s scholarships of $500 are awarded to selected graduating high school students attending a vocational/technical school or community college. Transferring community college students and high school graduates attending an accredited four-year college or university are eligible for a $1,000 award.

SoCalGas Company representatives worked with communities and local organizations to identify and select this year’s scholarship recipients. This year’s winners include Jesse Nava, Kieran Silva and Kenneth Wood.

For many years, the SoCalGas Scholarship Program has encouraged and supported students in pursuit of their dreams for a higher education.
