BROAD-STROKE CAUSES—WHAT ARE THEY?

Most people have no true concept of what “Cause” means, accepting it as an unexamined “Hodgepodge” (chaotic mixture, like a stew). Dictionaries present mostly unrelated concepts arising from its different Denotations (a word's primary, specific sense “what it is” meaning when it came into being). Examples–demonstrating Europeans typical confusion, conflict, and ambiguity with any significant word—include: Old French (C13, causa, ‘reason’) means: (1)  ‘lawsuit’; (2) ‘matter’; (3) ‘subject’; (4) ‘thing’. Europeans Denotative definition is: “Cause is applicable to any circumstance, condition, event, force, or the like, that contributes to the production of an effect, or to any combination of circumstances, conditions, events, etc., that inevitably or necessarily brings about a result. Cause is sometimes loosely used of the agent whose activities are instrumental in bearing consequences or the motive prompting action.” This only Connotatively deals with “what it does” + “how it appears.” The absence of saying “what it is” means the absence of Reality. People’s interpretations of Denotations derive from a given word’s emotional aura or atmosphere—called Phatic—which generate mental images (Recepts). To those images—ranging from being specific to an individual, all the way over to being shared by an in-group—are given suggestions and associations familiar to one(s) or their Static Background of Socialization. These “Feeling” Ideas generate unexamined assumptions. Then–used as Beliefs, Opinions, Faith, and/or Hope—they are called Connotations. Each person’s Connotation of a word—twice removed from Reality–has Totipotency(radiating aspects, like Moon rays). Such rays are chaotically demonstrated by people emphasizing their “Feeling” meanings differently (depending upon the occasion) or stereotypically (i.e. broad-stroking). By contrast, in African Tradition, any Cause of a “Thing” comes from the Cosmic Mind or a Human Source. Both emanate Essences, constituting that Thing’s Self-Identity. Its Disposition–expressing its individuality—is like a personal trademark.

The parts of a “Thing’s” Nature consist of Properties (what a Thing has). Properties embrace a Thing’s Endowments (i.e. natural qualities) and Propensities (in-born tendencies, like a given human’s capacities, abilities, and language). Each Endowment and Propensity independently operates a different process of that Thing. And their combined interdependent efforts make for a Theme’s “what it is” to feature the Thing’s “what it does” and “how it appears.” Hence, these Properties (better stated as a Contiguity Property—i.e. a diversity of what is operating as a unity)—whether about a singleThing or Associations of contributory aspects to the Cause—refer to each of the property’s original ingrediences. They manifest its Essence’s Nature operations. Properties are in an Interchange configuration inside the Disposition (i.e. a habitual readiness to respond in a certain tendency way). 

Mosaics of Endowments and Propensities produce a Cause Disposition which have: (1) a “What” and “Why”) Message received from its good/bad Source; (2) its Inclination–a ‘physical’ "leaning toward" or “leaning” away from something; (3) an Intention–the aim toward a specific action or a specific Effect; and (4) Totipotency rays on different planes of existence. Since the Interchange is the core of the Essence—which Ancient Africans called the “That” of the Thing—it generates all of the Thing’s active and passive Primary Qualities. The generated then buds out of the Interchange, as do gardenia flower buds out of its stem. Each “bud” is filled with the “pregnant” Essence’s Essentials of Character, Traits, Features, or Characteristics. “Buds” of Primary Qualities are destined to highlight and enhance the Essence’s Trademark Identity. Then, when the “Becoming Cause” enters its destination for manifesting, all Primary Qualities are modified by “Nurture’s” Conditions–something that nourishes. It is also influencial in the various acts of the cultivation and rearing of the “Becoming Cause” into maturity. 

A “Condition” (C14, talk together) is anything necessary to a certain result—anything in the absence of which that result would not be achieved. This Nurture Source determines the kind and degree of alterations of the Thing’s pre-birth “What it is,” its pre-birth “What it Does,” and/or its pre-birth “How it Appears.” The Mature Cause is a combination of Nature (its Essence + Character) and varying degrees of Nurture (i.e. the sum Effects of environmental influences and conditions acting on the Essentials of the Essence). jabaileymd.com; JABLifeSkills; Theievoice.com
